Higher Pursuits Information

In 2010, we decide to make a change to Higher Pursuits and expand our operation to include canoe and kayak rentals. For the first time Higher Pursuits had a permanent location, our Duck River Canoe base. Shortly after we opened the canoe base, we became a Jackson Kayak dealer, specializing in the recreational and fishing lines of kayaks produced by Jackson Kayaks in Sparta, TN. Our goal at the canoe base is to offer a rental operation that is paddler friendly and paddler focused. We want a family friendly atmosphere where parents and children can enjoy the river together. We strive to have quality boats and equipment that will help you have a more enjoyable day on the beautiful Duck River. Through our guided trips and education programs we strive to teach others about paddling, navigating the river, and the rich history this area has to offer. We continue to offer teambuilding and team bonding programs, but now have the added capability to not only provide programs at our canoe base but also the ability to add a day of paddling for your group. Higher Pursuits continues to provide portable teambuilding programs in Middle Tennessee. Throughout all our programs we use a "Challenge by Choice" philosophy. Regardless of the age, physical ability, or athletic ability of your group, Higher Pursuits can design a program to meet your needs. Since 1999, we have provided both teambuilding programs and team bonding canoe trips with numerous corporate clients, colleges, and school systems.
