Our story began in 1989 with three friends who shared a simple but powerful vision: to make homeownership more affordable for Australian families. That vision belonged to Peter Hayes, Rob Bowen, and John Harvey, who founded Henley Properties Group with a commitment to quality, transparency, and value. It's a vision that has seen us build more than 60,000 homes across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia under the brands Henley, Plantation Homes, and Edgewater Homes. We’ve never aimed to be the biggest – our focus has always been on delivering high-quality homes through a sustainable business model. Since 2009, we’ve proudly operated as a local builder backed by the global strength of our parent company, the Sumitomo Forestry Group. With more than 330 years of history, Sumitomo operates across forestry, timber manufacturing and distribution, housing in Japan and abroad, and biomass power generation. Today, the group is valued at AUD $10 billion, with housing and construction businesses settling 26,000 homes and apartments annually.
