HeartWood Centre for Community Youth Development Information

HeartWood is a leader in youth development programs in Nova Scotia, working with youth in discovering their 'personal best'. The heart of our work is with young people and mentor volunteers in communities across Nova Scotia. We collaborate with community leaders, private citizens, agencies, groups, and all levels of government to build on their efforts and to lead new initiatives that promote and support community-based youth development. In part, we express that support through financial assistance – to communities for their involvement in this work and to individuals in the form of program scholarships. Whatever the request, our goal is to come up with strategies that create lasting and reciprocal benefits for young people and the community
