Jason L. Harpe established Harpe Consulting in 2008 to offer professional historic preservation and museum services to non-profit organizations, historic preservation commissions, local governments, religious institutions, families, and individuals. Jason's nearly twenty years of experience in historic preservation and the museum field has equipped him to manage projects that range from a $1,000,000.000 restoration project to a $7,000 grassroots fundraising effort to restore a Depression-era Post Office mural. He began working in the field at the age of 18 as a weekend manager at a historic site and, since that time, he has consulted with a myriad of groups. Harpe Consulting's services include architectural reviews, local landmark designation reports, National Register of Historic Places nominations, institutional assessments, collections assessments, grant writing, fund-raising, long-range planning, social media development, and research, writing, and publishing. Harpe Consulting has facilitated the acquisition and preservation of historic sites that include, but are not limited to, cemeteries; developed long-range plans; written preservation plans, National Register of Historic Places nominations, local landmark designation reports, exhibition catalogs and other books, and successful grant applications; coordinated projects between historical and cultural organizations in various counties and states; written and published eight books and articles; and, worked incessantly to promote historic preservation to groups with varying demographics.
