Group Excellence is a mentoring and tutoring company that motivates and inspires students to achieve academic excellence. Founded in 2004 by Carl Dorvil as an undergraduate student at Southern Methodist University, Group Excellence, has grown to serve over 35,000 students in In-School, After-School, and Summer Camp programs. Whether working within school districts themselves or supporting community organizations' educational initiatives, Group Excellence has proven to be an educational ally that can bring lasting impact. Texas Education Agency, Dallas Independent School District, Texas Instruments Foundation, and other entities have recognized Group Excellence as a uniquely effective partner when charged with the task of helping improve students’ academic aptitude. Among several awards in the business sector, Group Excellence was named by Inc. Magazine as an Inc. 500 Company of 2011, one of the 500 fastest growing privately owned companies in America. The publication recognized Group Excellence as the 5th fastest growing Education company in the country.
