CEOS report of activities by Delores AIt Propst Grant County CEOS officers for 2010 began their reign at the Jan. 12 council meeting. Offi- .cers are Donna Jeffers, presi- dent; Tracey Mullenax, vice president; Arlene Goldizen, sec- retary; and Debbie Mitchell, treasurer. Committee chairs at the meeting were Darlene Michael, continuing education; Shari Taylor, family co-chair; and De- lores Alt Propst, marketing and membership. Others present were Ruth Junkins, Town and Country; Ethel Harper, Joy and Landes; Jo Ann Morgan and Nancy Brown, Dorcas; Carol Harman, North Fork; and Martha Garcon, extension agent. Propst reported that West Virginia CEOS will be cooper- ating with Church Women Unit- ed in West Virginia to collect othbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss for the "Oral Health Campaign for Camps," a contin- uing project of the West Virginia Healthy Kids and Families Coalition. Oral health supplies are distributed to 4-H camps and community centers in West Vir- ginia. In 2010, the campaign theme will be, "Spring Forward for Child Health. Other dates to remember are West Virginia University Day at the Legislature, Feb. 23; Nation- al Wear Red Day for Heart, Feb. 5; executive council meeting, Feb. 9; lesson leader training, Feb..23; and county council meeting; March 9. Anyone wishing to be a can- didate for 2010 Grant County "belle" needs to contact Propst immediately. DORCAS CEOS The Dorcas CEOS met Jan 1i. Present were Delores Alt Propst, Darlene Michael, Ann Sites, Shirley Thorne, Jenny Weese, Nancy Neekamp, Char- lie Zirkle, Morgan, Brown and Polly Uphold. The club has 20 regular members and one 50- year member. Hostesses were Michael and Morgan. Propst led in devotions. Uphold taught halth lesson on exercise, The club approved a project for 2010 to help purchase den- tares for a club member. Shirley Thorne taught the lesson, "Buy- ing Local Food. The next meeting of the Dor- cas CEOS will be Feb, 8. at 7 p.m., at the Brake Church of the Brethren. Hostesses are Carolyn Sites and Neekamp. Michael will teach the lesson, "My Walk Across West Virginia," and Joan Ankers will have devotions. Birth announcement Scott Kuykendall and Marie Crites of Petersburg are an- nouncing the birth of their daughter, Bai- ley Marie, on Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m., at Grant Memorial Hos- pital, Petersburg. She weighed 7 pounds and 1 1/4 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. She was wel- comed home by her sister, Madison Crites. Paternal grandparents are Jay and Stephanie Kuykendall and Matt and Marlene Evans, all of Petersburg.
