By delivering premium, local, fresh-roasted coffee (& tea), Good Stuff Coffee is able to provide income directly to young men and women aging out of foster care and to individuals struggling with homelessness. 50% of kids in foster care end up homeless or in jail within 2 years of “aging out” at age 18 or 21. When you switch and buy some or all of your coffee from Good Stuff Coffee, we prevent this from happening! We’ve partnered with Doing Good Works to help foster kids that age out of the system by creating jobs for them, employing and paying them, helping with their transportation issues and costs, and helping them transition into careers so they become permanently independent and never end up on the streets or in jail – and we do it through coffee. And our entire supply chain is socially responsible, too. We buy only direct trade, organic coffee, which means the farmers we buy from around the world are paid a fair rate and work in healthy, pesticide-free environments. Our single serve kups and pods are packed by developmentally delayed adults, and we directly employ or find jobs for emancipated foster kids and pay them a living wage. On top of all this, we offer a risk-free, minimum-free, inventory-free Fundraising Program so other groups can use Good Stuff Coffee to generate income for their own causes at the same time. The beautiful thing about coffee is that it is consumable. Instead of going back to the well to ask for donations over and over again, when someone shifts some or all of their coffee purchases to Good Stuff Coffee on a subscription plan (see our Coffee Club), it generates a predictable base of profit from which we can operate and do all the good works we do.
