National Express is the UK’s largest scheduled coach operator.
We are headquartered in Birmingham, with locations across the country. Our national network serves hundreds of UK towns and cities. We run round-the-clock services to the UK's major airports and our festival and events services take customers to sporting and music events as well as festivals.
Coaches are essential to a strong and well-connected national transport network and we work hard to grow the coach market to enhance the UK’s transport offer.
Safety is our number one priority. Our fleet has market-leading safety features and we work across our entire business to drive safety improvements. In 2021, we received a five star audit rating from The British Safety Council for the eigth consecutive year.
Coach travel is one of the most environmentally friendly forms of transport. We have continually invested in the cleanest and most efficient vehicles available to us. Every coach we have purchased since 2014 has been Euro VI – the highest emissions standard available. Emissions per coach passenger are much lower than those travelling by car and coaches reduce congestion by using road space more efficiently.
We are accredited by the National Living Wage Foundation for pledging to pay the voluntary, higher real Living Wage across all of our UK businesses.
We are part of the wider Mobico Group which employs 41,000 people worldwide, with bus, coach and rail services in the UK, Continental Europe, North Africa, North America and the Middle East.
Dublin Bus is Ireland’s largest public transport provider, carrying approximately 165 million customers in 2025. This represents growth of an additional 6 million journeys compared to 2024.
More than 1,000 buses and approximately 3,500 drivers serve more than 130 routes, including fifteen 24-hour routes. More than 10% of our fleet is now fully electric, helping Ireland to meet its climate goals and make Dublin’s air that bit cleaner.
Dublin Bus services are wheelchair accessible, and we proudly support and represent the communities that we serve; proof that a semi-state organisation can be a true leader in Diversity and Inclusion.
Bus Éireann was formed in 1987 as a subsidiary of CIÉ to provide bus services throughout Ireland, with the exception of Dublin City. Bus Éireann employs almost 2,800 people directly and operate a fleet of over 1,100 buses and coaches.
