At Global Internet Services our mission is to provide easy-to-use tools that create the social and economic opportunities which can transform communities and help people realize their potential. Through our programs and our partnerships, we support numerous projects and organizations around the world, working to expand opportunities and help improve digital inclusion through technology access and training. Our aim is to make the internet work for people and businesses the way they want, need and like, and to make information technology easier to use, more secure and more profitable. We have a proven track record of introducing innovative and successful e-products and services worldwide. Our beginnings were in the early 1980s, while DOS was in its infancy and our first PC filled a small room and cost US$30,000. Our first developments were databases and a real-time information infrastructure which later served financial institutions. Such solutions are familiar to us now but in those days they were ground-breaking and visionary. Since then we have been involved as project leaders, partners, developers or service providers for government institutions, the United Nations, the European Union, Microsoft, Cisco, Orange, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Google and many others. Global Internet Services invented and developed the Internet Operating System (inopsys) and, in 1996, was the first to introduce the concept of cloud computing and remote applications. We launched hosted applications with an operating system connecting anywhere to internet-TV, computers and mobile phones long before Google even existed. We developed hosted applications and a fully-functioning PC on a smart-phone before Apple even started to develop the iPhone.
