Gigz.com is a social network for need-based classifieds, which provides users with local opportunities to engage in their community and support local economy. This gaming-inspired online tool navigates individuals to a pool of work, volunteer, and social opportunities. Gigz.com helps users hire help or find work, rally support or volunteer for a cause, or connect around social interests. We have created a free, need-based platform that showcases opportunities. Gigz utilizes the effectiveness of feedback on service-based websites that have user-rating systems, while maintaining the speed, freedom, and cross-industry content that open classified websites like Craigslist can provide. Classifieds can be grouped into the 3 major types of need-based activities that we have identified; work, causes, and interests. These activity types are further classified into over 40 common industry categories such as cleaning, pet, photography, repair, talent etc., which will continue to grow with the user demand. Gigz uses an in-house built engine that has been designed to achieve our mission efficiently with an open architecture that is both cloud and API ready.
