Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House has been providing community services to the diverse residents of Hastings-Sunrise community of Vancouver since 1968. With 120 full-time and part-time staff, as well as over 250 volunteers, the collective capacity includes proficiency in at least 23 languages in addition to English and French. These languages include Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Farsi/Persian, Italian, Arabic, Dari, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Tagalog, Turkish, and more. Our leadership team includes the Executive Director Norm Leech who is Indigenous from the St’at’imc Nation, and 5 female Program Directors with 3 self-identify as BIPOC. Frog Hollow currently delivers 24 funded programs that range from those supporting pre-teens and youth in collaboration with Vancouver School Board to employment programs for young adults, seniors, intergenerational programming, families with children under 5, newcomers (including both immigrants and refugees), decolonizing initiatives, and food security. Additionally, we offer a full-range of fee-based Childcare Program, providing care to more than 400 children. Our satellite sites: Sunrise Welcome Place: 2732 E Hastings St, Vancouver Drive Youth Employment Centre: 2106 Commercial Drive (in partnership with the WorkBC Centre, serving the Northeast corner of Vancouver) Satellite Daycare: 3260 East Broadway Nootka Out of School Care: 3375 Nootka Street Village @ Lord Nelson: 1355 Garden Drive Neighbourhood Houses are safe and welcoming places where neighbours come together in the “living room of the community”. Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House is a member of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia (ANHBC). ANHBC is a registered charitable non-profit society, the legal entity and umbrella for the operation of Frog Hollow and eight other neighbourhood houses and outdoor camp.
