Fri-Son (Fribourg, Switzerland) is a present-day music club, which exists since 1983. Ever since the beginning the venue welcomed over 4000 international and national artists - amongst them Nirvana, The Gun Club, Nico, Melvins, The Young Gods, Beastie Boys, Cat Power, Muse, Sonic Youth, Phoenix, Grizzly Bear - and way over 1 million visitors. It is managed by a nonprofit organisation called « Fri-Son ». The principal goal is to offer an agenda, subtly balanced between new discoveries and iconic figures of the local and international current musical scene. Fri-Son hosts more than 45,000 spectators a year and allows to more than 110 swiss and international bands to perform either on the big stage (up to 1200 people) or on the small one (up to 300 people). The arrangement and adaptability of the venue enable to organise, more than 130 events per year, amongst which: live gigs, special artistic events, cinema, dj nights.
