Francl Architecture Inc. Information

At Francl Architecture Inc., we design for connection. From people to places and spaces, we build communities from the ground up with care and collaboration. We are listeners, innovating with intention to create spaces that are meaningful and beautifully solved. We believe great architecture begins with people. Based in the heart of Vancouver, we are a full-service architecture firm with over 36 years of experience designing award-winning institutional, recreational, and infrastructure projects that shape communities and enrich lives. Founded in 1988 as WF Architecture Inc. by Walter Francl, our firm has evolved through strategic partnerships and a growing leadership team, now comprising ten principals and over 80 interdisciplinary professionals. Our team includes architects, urban planners, interior designers, and sustainability experts many of whom are accredited in LEED, Passive House, WELL, Envision, and Rick Hansen Accessibility Certification. We are proud of our inclusive, collaborative studio culture that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. Our participatory design methodology fosters transparent dialogue with clients, stakeholders, and communities ensuring that every project is not only functional and cost-effective but also resilient, sustainable, and deeply rooted in place. From transit stations that celebrate functional legibility to community centres that foster connection, our work is driven by a commitment to wellbeing, innovation, and long-term impact.
