FPA is committed to developing a culture of conversation that strengthens relationships and inspires possibility. One current example of this commitment is the 2009 FPA Listening Tour. FPA's Executive Committee, comprising President Richard Salmen, Chair Mark Johannessen, President-elect Tom Potts, and myself, has hit the road to engage members throughout the country in conversation. We've been to Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Cincinnati and Atlanta so far this year, with upcoming stops in Boston, Chicago, Orlando, San Francisco and Philadelphia. We are using these special opportunities to hear from you about the most important questions and issues facing your practice and your profession. We are listening to gain insight and clarity about current perceptions of FPA as the voice of the financial planning profession. How are we doing and what could we do better? The input we gain from these visits will help us shape and enhance our value proposition to those who practice and support competent and ethical financial planning as well as those who benefit from it. It also has great influence on the national board's strategic game plan and yearly priorities. Are we in alignment with our members? Are we delivering what our stakeholders need? Our new blog provides the additional opportunity to reach out to our members for feedback and to expand our Listening Tour audience. I'd like to hear from you on one or more of the following questions:What is the most important issue or question facing you in the practice of financial planning today? What is the most important issue or question facing us in the advancement of the financial planning profession today? What are the top three priorities you would like FPA to pursue on your behalf? It feels good to kick this off and create a place for us to talk and share thoughts. I hope to see you here often and want to know what's on your mind. Let the conversations begin.
