The Kern High School District (KHSD) is located in Kern County, California at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. The KHSD's District Office is located in the city of Bakersfield. The Kern High School District is California's largest grades 9-12 high school district serving over 42,000 students. The District has 19 comprehensive high schools, five continuation schools, Bakersfield Adult School, two career technical education facilities, and several Special Education sites.
Established in 1913, Bakersfield College is one of the nation's oldest continually-operating community colleges. The college serves 33,000 students annually on the 153-acre main campus in northeast Bakersfield, at the Delano Campus 35 miles north of Bakersfield, the Weill Institute in downtown Bakersfield, and BC SouthWest in southwest Bakersfield. We also offer classes at several alternative locations, including Shafter Leaning Center 18 miles northwest of Bakersfield, Arvin/Lamont, McFarland, Olive Drive Training Facility in northwest Bakersfield, Wasco and other community locations.
Central Carolina Community College offers a wide variety of programs at its three campus locations and multiple instructional locations throughout Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties.
Within these programs, students can earn associate degrees or college transfer credits, diplomas, or certificates. Some programs are offered entirely, or in part, via online distance education.
CCCC’s Economic & Community Development Division offers courses in such areas as Short-term Job Training, College & Career Readiness, Personal Interests, Business & Industry, and Emergency Services Training.
