FG Press was founded in late 2013 by the team at Foundry Group. As venture capitalists and authors, we believe there is a clear path of innovation away from the current publishing model - which is defined by one-sided royalty splits, cumbersome bureaucracy, poor transparency, and ineffective support - to one that can better serve authors and readers. As a publishing firm, FG Press is launching with what we know best: books in the genres of startups, entrepreneurship, business, and venture capital. These books will include non-fiction, fiction, science fiction, and self-help. Even though we are starting in a domain we know well, what we are building is the foundation for for what we call Equitable Publishing, which is scalable to any genre.
