Faunatech Austbat Information

Faunatech was established in 1991 with the primary objective to design and produce innovative and high quality field equipment for wildlife researchers. We supply high quality, field appropriate equipment for wildlife research backed by our expertise in a broad range of manufacturing technologies and knowledgeable appreciation of wildlife welfare issues, field logistics, and necessary robustness and ease of use. We build customised equipment to customer specification and often undertake extensive Research and Development projects to develop specialised systems. We service or modify equipment from other manufacturers, carrying parts for several such products, and offer technical support, training, field installation, project design assistance and general survey support. We supply wildlife cameras and bioacoustic (acoustic and ultrasonic) monitoring equipment, produce the Austbat Harptrap and provide solutions for monitoring road ecology projects (design, installation and data monitoring). We service Australia and the world from our property north of Bairnsdale on the beautiful Gippsland Lakes in Victoria. Our purpose-designed workshop facilitates the efficient production of our now extensive range of products, with specialised areas for electronics, precision plastics moulding, metal shop/welding, funnel manufacture and bat trap assembly. We are gradually re-establishing native vegetation and structure to restore wildlife habitat over the remainder of our property (previously agricultural), nominating the property for Land for Wildlife status.
