DONA International is the world’s first, largest and leading doula certifying organization. When our founders created DONA in 1992, they professionalized the role of the doula. Since then, we have certified more than 12,000 DONA International doulas in more than 50 countries!

Since the beginning, our philosophy has remained consistent. We provide training for birth and postpartum doulas, childbirth educators and breastfeeding counselors. Our students come from all sorts of different backgrounds – those who are new to the field, have years of experience, and clinicians and allied health professionals. We remain true to the belief that training should be flexible, without time limits, or rules telling you who you can and cannot work with, or what you should charge. One of our founding values was the importance of creating a diverse community of birth professionals. We have students and graduates in 112 countries, across 6 continents. You will have access to this amazing community through our discussion groups and be a part of something bigger – a community that spans the globe. Because of this, our student community has a richness and cultural respect that we are immensely proud of. What ultimately drives all of us at Childbirth International (CBI) is simple. Birth matters. Our experiences (and our children’s) of birth matter, not only in that moment, but for a lifetime. These experiences impact our capacity to love, and our capacity to function as whole human beings in this world. We are fully invested in your learning journey being successful. One of the things we pride ourselves on is the relationships we build between ourselves, as trainers, and you, our students, which often lasts far beyond the end of your course.

Birthing Gently was established in 2002 as Boston’s first doula agency by founder Tara Campbell, CD(DONA),BDT(DONA),LCCE In 2021 BGMH accepted an invitation to join Mass General Brigham in the “United Against Racism Project”. As a full spectrum Doula-Agency we have been committed to supporting families through fertility & pre-conception, prenatal education, pregnancy, labor and birth, adoption, loss, lactation support, assisting families as they transition into early parenthood by providing postpartum, childcare specialist services and pet services. The services we offer are provided by trained, experienced, and professional doulas.
