A DRIVING FORCE FOR GENDER & RACIAL JUSTICE Founded in 1983, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is the first statewide women’s foundation in the country. We make grants, invest in research, policy and narrative change, and forge cross-sector partnerships to ensure community-based, community-led solutions across Minnesota. Our vision is a world of opportunity where all women, girls, and gender-expansive peope -- and their families -- have the power to create and lead safe, prosperous lives. In Minnesota, data show that Black, Indigenous, and women and girls of color, and those who live in Greater and rural Minnesota, experience economic, safety, health, and leadership disparities that prevent them from thriving. For the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, systems change is about shifting structures in order to reduce or eliminate barriers, increase access to opportunity, and achieve gender and racial justice.
