erodr is a local social discovery app for college students with enhanced privacy controls and a unique peer moderation system that creates a hyperlocal crowd-sourced entertainment stream exclusive to the student community. Users broadcast real-time, short-lived content to the community forum, and receive private likes and comments in return. erodr is the brainchild of Drew Halliday, then a senior at the University of Missouri, Columbia (Mizzou). In early 2012 he began to develop the project with his father Andy Halliday, an experienced technology entrepreneur. Through his extensive network, Andy attracted technology, business and marketing resources to help create the app. A prototype was launched in November, 2012, on the Mizzou campus, and then four more schools (Temple, Virginia Tech, IUP, and Bloomsburg) were added in February at the start of the Spring Semester.
