The Epilepsy Foundation, a national non-profit with nearly 50 local organizations throughout the United States, has led the fight against seizures since 1968. The Foundation is an unwavering ally for individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and seizures. The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is: to improve the quality of life for those affected by epilepsy through education, advocacy, research, and connection. The Foundation works to ensure that people with seizures have the opportunity to live their lives to their fullest potential.
We are the leading national epilepsy medical charity working for everyone affected by epilepsy, through our cutting edge research, fundraising and awareness campaigns, information services, and expert residential and nursing care.
At our rural Buckinghamshire site, we provide specialist nursing and residential care for people with complex epilepsy and associated conditions, as well as offering expert support to those who want to live more independently. Our respite service team creates individualised care packages for different levels of need, allowing families and carers to take a break when needed.
As a national charity, we work to raise awareness of epilepsy with the public and in schools. We also offer training for health professionals, carers, employers, local authorities and NHS commissioners. Our information service produces leaflets, factsheets, booklets and DVDs on different aspects of epilepsy, alongside our extensive website, interactive epilepsy app, online forum and dedicated epilepsy helpline.
Home to the world renowned Sir William Gowers centre, we lead the way in cutting edge medical research and are committed to better understanding epilepsy and improving diagnosis and treatment.
Our vision is a full life for everyone affected by epilepsy
