ECR are mining specialists in InSitu Recovery (ISR) of metals including copper and gold. InSitu Recovery (ISR) can provide substantial benefits over conventional mining in the right geological setting. ISR delivers a low cost method of mineral extraction with minimum environmental footprint. ISR has the potential to be a game changer in the mining industry with the recent developments of innovative benign and environmentally friendly solutions to recover gold and copper. ECR have a Commonwealth Research Grant (CRC-P) for $2.85 million to further investigate copper ISR at Kapunda in collaboration with partners University of Adelaide, CSIRO, Mining3, Terramin(ASX:TEX) and Thor Mining PLC (AIM/ASX:THR). The project will involve CSIRO and University of Adelaide researching effective environmentally friendly lixiviants for effective copper extraction, fracture modelling and geophysics map the fluid and lixiviant flow through the ore body and instigate risk mitigation strategies for environmental and social license issues.
