Centrex Metals Limited (ASX: CXM) was incorporated on 23 March 2001 and in 2018 transitioned from a focus on iron ore to becoming a producer of phosphate rock for the phosphatic fertiliser industry. Phosphorus is critical to the production of food crops and in pasture for livestock. Our flagship Ardmore Phosphate Rock Project in north west Queensland produces high-grade phosphate rock, mining its first parcel of high grade phosphate rock in mid-2021. Ardmore was established to help reduce Australia’s increasingly risky reliance on imported phosphate, heralding a critical improvement in the nation’s self-sufficiency, fertiliser supply chain resilience and long-term food security.
