Climate change is the challenge of our generation. As innovators, we believe disruptive technology can bring performant solutions to the most dire challenges we face as a society.
As we seek a more respectful way of living on our planet, nature itself has much to offer and teach us, starting with feeding the world of tomorrow with better nutrients - for animals, people and our planet - through insects.
At Innovafeed, we are committed to inventing efficient technologies that reproduce Nature's processes on a large scale.
By building a circular and zero waste agri-food chain replicating insect's role in nature, we want to reinvent our way of living with higher quality, sustainability and resilience, for everyone.
We are a team of pragmatic dreamers who believe performance and positive impact can go hand in hand to reshape the world we leave to future generations.
Buglife is the only organisation in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates, and we are actively working to save Britain’s rarest little animals, everything from bees to beetles, worms to woodlice and jumping spiders to jellyfish. There are more than 40,000 invertebrate species in the UK, and many of these are under threat as never before. Invertebrates are vitally important to a healthy planet – humans and other life forms could not survive without them. The food we eat, the fish we catch, the birds we see, the flowers we smell and the hum of life we hear, simply would not exist without bugs. Invertebrates underpin life on earth and without them the world’s ecosystems would collapse.
AgriProtein is leading a new industry called nutrient upcycling.
Our mission is to close the loop in food production. We use our technology to leverage the natural capabilities of the black soldier fly; feeding its larvae existing organic waste to create a sustainable, natural protein for pets, livestock and fish.
Our industrial-scale bioconversion process takes organic waste streams from food factories, supermarkets, farms and restaurants, and recycles these into valuable products including: an insect based complete protein (MagMeal™), a versatile, natural oil (MagOil™) and a rich residual soil conditioner (MagSoil™).
AgriProtein has been developing its technology since 2008. In 2016, we opened the world’s first industrial scale insect facility in Cape Town, South Africa with the capacity to divert 100 tonnes of organic waste from landfill per day and produce over 2,000 tonnes of MagMeal™ per year.
AgriProtein is a subsidiary of the Insect Technology Group.
