eduSOIL is an international social enterprise, nurturing the innate compassion, creativity, and civic agency of diverse and underserved people through culturally responsive and trauma-informed wellbeing practice, and blended programmes. We address the global mental health crisis compounded by limited relatable and accessible wellbeing support, particularly experienced by young people exposed to political upheaval, conflict, natural disasters, migration and widespread stress caused by social media and academic pressure. We provide wellbeing support through community arts, environmental stewardship, youth leadership, yoga, and mindfulness in education programmes and training. Since 2011, we have engaged volunteers in cross-sectoral, intercultural, collaborative placements that support the blended trainings we provide youth mentors (teachers, youth workers, parents, employee volunteers) who have collaborated with us to empower 16,000 primarily black and asian youth in 12 countries. Through our partnership with the Design for Change (DFC) movement, and our leadership of wellbeing and mindfulness centred DFC Philippines (2010 - 2020) and presently South Africa, Sudan, and Northern Ireland chapters, we have contributed to 2 million children in 70+ countries being empowered to lead social action projects that address issues they identify as affecting their own lives. Through our non-profit organisation, we work with underserved young people and their families through grant and CSR-funded programmes. Proceeds from self-paying participants (corporates, teachers, parents) and individual donors enable people facing financial barriers, to access wellbeing support through our programmes.
