e-MID SIM S.p.A. is the only electronic platform for money markets in Europe. It started offering multilateral trading for interbank deposits in Italy in 1990; now it connects to the market 138 banks from 29 countries, including 30 viewers among Central Banks and Ministries of Finance. e-MID is increasing the range of products available in order to deliver the best service in a completely changed scenario and the increase of new regulations. The MIC market gives the chance to hedge liquidity in excess which otherwise will be deposited in the ECB and thanks to the introduction of the ON maturity it gives the possibility to lend liquidity – in total anonymity - without additional pledge of collateral, thus compensating the lack of opportunities on the unsecured market. With a single trading platform e-MID gives the possibility to diversify the transactions thanks to collateralized products, such as Repo and Triparty Repo such as X-COM by Monte Titoli (LSE group), Euroclear and Clearstream. e-MID has just implemented the interface to the international CCP for the clearing of the derivatives products (e-MIDER) in compliance with the EMIR regulation. On e-MIDER market, beside Overnight Indexed Swap, also Interest Rate Swaps and Forward Rate Agreements are so available.
