e-Bility.com was launched in 1998 as a one-stop accessible destination for disability related information, resources, services and products by Sandra Vassallo. The Internet was still in its infancy, hosting was expensive and web access more limited than today. e-Bility's purpose was three fold: Person susing a refreshable braille display to access e-Bility's web site To make it easier and quicker for people with disability to find relevant information in an accessible format To offer an affordable low cost alternative for small groups in the disability and community sector to have a presence on the web as well as a space for people with disability, their families and carers to have a voice and share experiences To support and promote web accessibility The e-Bility website had a policy of full access from its inception and became a destination for organisations and people with disability to share their experiences and resources.
