Drishtee Foundation Information

Drishtee Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates a communication link between the ICT and its users, service providers and implementers. The most common Challenge being faced by the ICT networks and the Information Centers today is in reaching out to the communities, i.e. bringing them closer to the ICT centers. In the rural environment, it is very important to put efforts for enabling the ICT network get across various barriers – physical, social and psychological. Secondly, it was also felt that well-understood needs and appropriate demand estimations could make these ICT Centers more relevant and thus viable for the maximum utilization by the communities. On the other hand, the availability of the ICT centers in the appropriate locations and with viable and workable services is also a deciding factor in the growth of an ICT network. ICT Research at Drishtee Foundation (DF) has gone ahead and devised various tools and methods for giving an 'informed planning' for ICT implementations and assessing their impacts. Drishtee Foundation plays a catalytic role in enhancing the reach and impact of ICTs for higher socio-economic returns. The two specific areas where DF has carved out its niche role are – Promotions and Research. There are many manifestations of these two core areas of DF’s operations, like Content dissemination, capacity building, entrepreneurship promotions etc.
