DOE-Environmental Management Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program Information

The DOE Environmental Management Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program is designed to increase the number of minority STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) students from throughout the United States and its territories, who participate in educational and experiential opportunities within the national laboratory network and the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management complex. These opportunities often lead to career pathways in specialties including Cybersecurity, Environmental Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and renewable energy research. There are roughly 700 minority serving institutions focused on educating and training students for careers in STEM. The Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program recognizes that Minority Serving Institutions produce one-fifth of the nation’s STEM bachelor’s degrees. The program seeks to build upon the national laboratories’ successes in diversity, inclusion and equality while building a pipeline of future national laboratory scientists.
