We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 11,517 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 136 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC. Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation. We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation. V/Line is connecting our communities. We are Australia’s largest regional public transport operator and customers take more than 17 million trips on V/Line train and coach services each year. Through our Customer Charter we are committed to making each journey safe, comfortable and reliable, as well as being helpful and keeping customers informed. We also work towards a connected and prosperous regional Victoria by forging strong relationships with other organisations and stakeholders, vital to the strength of the community. V/Line has more than 2200 staff across more than 700 different positions working at 74 locations across the network. We are a diverse organization with staff from many different backgrounds and we value the contribution they make to the community as well as the work they do for V/Line.

Energex Limited (Energex) and its predecessor organisations have provided electricity to homes and businesses in South East Queensland since the late 19th Century. Energex was formed in 1997 to replace the South East Queensland Electricity Board (SEQEB) and until 2007 the company not only distributed electricity but also reticulated and sold gas and electricity products. The gas and electricity retail businesses and gas reticulation network were sold in 2006/07 prior to the commencement of full retail gas and electricity contestability in Queensland in July 2007. Now we distribute electricity to more than 1.4 million residential, commercial and industrial customers across a population base of around 3.2 million in South East Queensland. In 2016, we merged with regional Queensland electricity distributor Ergon Energy Network under the newly formed entity Energy Queensland.
