Dinamo Typefaces Information

Dinamo is an independent type design studio based in Berlin. We develop fonts, books, and other physical projects—sometimes on our own, often in collaboration with a global network of contributors. Our work spans both commercial and cultural projects of varying scales. Alongside the ongoing expansion of our retail library, we collaborate with clients across art, culture, fashion, technology, and commerce. Our Client Work page highlights collaborations ranging from custom typefaces and tailored modifications, multiscript systems, plugins, tools, and good old logo design. Beyond type design, we publish books through our basement imprint Dinamo Editions and translate our ideas into physical objects with Dinamo Hardware. And on London-based NTS Radio, we host our own music show called foNTS. We share ideas and give a look behind the scenes through our newsletter, staying in conversation with the wider cultural landscape. Our team regularly lectures and leads workshops at institutions around the world. Dinamo received the Swiss Design Award in 2016, just three years after starting the studio, and since 2018, co-founders Johannes Breyer and Fabian Harb have been members of AGI, Alliance Graphique Internationale.
