Development International e.V. Information

Development International e.V. (DI) is an independent non-profit research association based in Berlin. We measure what laws, standards and programmes change for workers, communities and the environment. Our work starts from a law, a standard, a programme, a company's own due diligence, or a harm on the ground. We ask whether the rule was carried out, whether conduct changed, and whether people and places are better protected. Since 2014 we have published benchmarks of how companies comply with responsible-business rules, from Dodd-Frank Section 1502 and the UK Modern Slavery Act to the German Supply Chain Act. We also evaluate programmes and standards, and build tools for compliance, procurement and sustainability teams. Our partners are public bodies, companies and civil society.
