Deli Maatschappij (Deli-Mij) is a leading supplier of timber, building and decorative products. The current nine main operating companies can be clustered into two groups. Deli Building Supplies which targets construction professionals in The Netherlands and Deli Home & Garden which targets retailers and consumers throughout Europe. In bookyear 2013/14, Deli Maatschappij realised revenues of about € 700 million with more than 2,000 employees in ten countries. Deli Maatschappij seeks to be the leading supplier in each market segment it serves. To accomplish this objective, Deli has made extensive investments in its companies, staff and value-added capabilities including production and distribution facilities. The operating companies are either product specialist 'category leaders' targeting multiple customer segments, or customer segment specialist selling multiple products. All companies have in common that they deal with relatively difficult to handle products, often based on natural raw materials with natural variation. Deli companies are typically active in business-to-business markets, but with a firm focus on the final consumer.
