The Midwives Information and Resource Service is a globally respected provider of evidence-based resources to support maternity health care professionals, students, and allied health professionals in their development. Founded in the 1980s, we are the world's largest midwifery-specific database and the producers of internationally renowned quarterly journal MIDIRS Midwifery Digest. In 2019, we became part of the Royal College of Midwives. Our mission is to be at the forefront, leading international information for pregnancy, childbirth and infancy. We endeavour to share this information widely, to assist in the global improvement of maternity care. The Creative Nonfiction Foundation was incorporated in 1994 and pursues educational and publishing initiatives in the genre of literary nonfiction. Its objectives are to provide venues, including Creative Nonfiction magazine, for high quality nonfiction prose (memoir, literary journalism, personal essay); to serve as the singular strongest voice of the genre, defining the ethics and parameters of the field; and to broaden the genre's impact in the literary arena by providing an array of educational services and publishing activities.
