Deep Root Center Information

Deep Root Center is a small, safe, dynamic, and welcoming community of learners. DRC accepts membership applications from youth who wish to take charge of their own education to become independent thinkers by seeking out information and disseminating it through their own filters of experience and beliefs. DRC trusts that all young people are capable of self-regulation and that they will make good choices when offered the opportunity. DRC's programming encompasses youth between the ages of 5-19. The Seedlings Program , is for young children between the ages of 5-10, who are excited about exploring the world and seeking answers to their questions through play and hands on experimentation. Our regular programing for students between 11-18 fosters independence and intrinsic motivation by supporting participants to explore their own interests and passions through hands-on projects, classes, independent research, and community internships, as well as social interactions with their peers and adults in a safe, supportive environment. All DRC members are individuals, moving forward in unique directions at a pace that is right for them. Deep Root Center is not a school. Rather, DRC offers an alternative to school.
