Bijna iedereen herinnert zich nog de eerste keer in de Bijenkorf. De geschiedenis van het mooiste warenhuis van Nederland gaat terug tot 1870, toen op de Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam een kleine fourniturenwinkel onder de naam Magazijn de Bijenkorf werd geopend. Kunst, cultuur en mode hebben altijd een grote rol gespeeld in de historie van de Bijenkorf en vele beroemde kunstenaars, waaronder architecten, schilders en ontwerpers, hebben in de loop der jaren hun naam aan de Bijenkorf verbonden. Inmiddels bestaat de keten uit zeven warenhuizen, in Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht, Maastricht en Amstelveen, en webshops in Nederland en België. Daarnaast is er een patisseriewinkel in het centrum van Amsterdam. De centrale bakkerij is gevestigd in Amsterdam-West en het uiterste duurzame distributiecentrum in Tilburg. Maar de Bijenkorf is meer dan een winkel. Het is een podium waar je geïnspireerd wordt. Het gonst er letterlijk van de ideeën en creatieve energie. Het is een plek die mensen verbindt en waar je herinneringen maakt. Waar je even kan wegdromen en je bijzonder kunt voelen. The Randstad (the conurbation between the 4 main cities in the west of the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Rotterdam) and the southern part of the Netherlands is our largest market. We are also active in Germany with Maison van den Boer Deutschland GmbH. In addition to catering, Maison van de Boer is active in the Dutch market as a full-service events agency. We are a partner in many prestigious event venues in the Netherlands. Maison van den Boer is headquartered in Veghel. In total, Maison van den Boer employs 700 people (approx. 500 FTEs). Maison van den Boer is part of the Koninklijke Van den Boer Group. Several catering businesses operate within this group, focusing on party catering, venue catering and medical nutrition. These include Oseven, happening & food and FoodforHospitality.
