The industrial activities of DataOptima Lab are focused on design, implementation, and deployment of data-driven pipelines in different industries and specifically in the Energy and Utilities sector. We provide a wide range of services in different stages of the projects including pipeline definition, historical data exploration, machine learning/deep learning model development and optimization, design of the architecture of the system to be deployed and deployment of the system on industry-standard cloud infrastructure. The research activities of DataOptima Lab are instead focused on the development and optimization of machine learning/deep learning based pipelines with applications in different areas of the energy sector including smart buildings, occupancy-based building management systems, smart meter analytics, remote auditing, load forecasting, real-time optimization of district heating systems, and simulation of the behavior of two-phase flows. The activities of the lab also include physical steady-state/dynamic modelling and long-term optimization of the performance of energy systems along with techno-economic optimization of hybrid power generation units.
