Dance changes you. More than simply witnessing something beautiful, or engaging with culture, to experience dance is to be positively altered. From performances at the Joyce Theatre in New York, to the Grand in Shanghai, the Stanislavsky in Moscow and the Sydney Opera House at home, Sydney Dance Company has proven that there are no passive observers in a contemporary dance audience. The reward of truly moving audiences, and the raw pride of sharing Australian art with the world has driven our ensemble of 16 dancers, led by Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela, to become one of the world’s strongest forces in contemporary dance. Alongside Bonachela’s original works, our programs have featured guest choreographers like Jacopo Godani, Alexander Ekman, Gideon Obarzanek and Cheng Tsung-Lung as well as collaborations with the Sydney Festival, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, David Jones and composers Bryce Dessner, Nick Wales, 48nord and Ezio Bosso. Sydney Dance Company has a broad community beyond the practice and performance of our lead dancers. We believe in the universality of dance, and with the largest public dance class program in Australia, we help over 80,000 people a year connect with the grace, strength and creativity that lives within all of us. Our nation-wide education program offers a strategic curriculum targeting primary and secondary students through to career focused study for pre-professional dancers and university graduates.

Queensland Ballet is a vibrant, creative company which connects people and dance across Queensland. We offer a program of world-class productions of the best classical ballets and inspired contemporary dance works. The Company engages renowned choreographers and designers from around the world and nurtures emerging local talent by presenting exciting new works in an intimate studio series. With a culture of creativity and collaboration, complemented by an active program of engagement with our communities, Queensland Ballet has become the central hub for dance in the State. Our dancers are acclaimed for the technical excellence and versatility, and our annual program offers diversity in style, audience focus and geographic reach, with up to 100 performances in Brisbane and tours to regional Queensland.

Elite Dance (previously Lamott School of Dance) has been running since 1994 and is located in the Central Coast Youth Club at Niagara Park. Recently the dance school has expanded with the purchase of new premises in West Gosford. At Elite Dance, we endeavour to give our students the encouragement and support needed to reach their dancing goals. No student is left out during performances and all our young dancers are given the opportunity to show their progress to family and friends. Dance is a wonderful pastime to be enjoyed by all ages. It teaches a range of disciplines that can be used throughout a student's lifetime. Here your child can learn and love to dance! Our dedicated teachers and caring attitude allows our students to flourish and develop into confident and disciplined dancers. Elite Dance is owned and operated by Alisa Blackburn, who took up the role of principal at the end of 2010 after teaching at Elite Dance under Lorraine Blackburn for five years. Although Lorraine has stepped down as principal, she remains with the school and is responsible for all our graded R.A.D. Ballet classes. Elite Dance employs a policy of limited class sizes to ensure our students receive valuable and enriching classes and receive maximum benefit from our teachers' expertise. Our timetable is scheduled to run alongside the public school terms and includes various styles of dance for all ages. No classes finish later than 8:30pm and all classes are taught by responsible adults. Elite Dance prides itself on always using age appropriate music, costumes and choreography.
