In 2003, our founder, Laurence Damato, grew restless after working for seven years at a large general contracting firm specializing in self-storage. He decided to venture out independently and formed DAI General Contracting. Since then, the company has never looked back. DAI was immediately awarded its first ground-up self-storage project, and soon after, several industrial concrete tilt projects followed, along with office buildings and more. DAI General Contracting is now an established Commercial General Contracting Firm and is an undisputed leader in the Self-Storage industry throughout California. Over the last decade DAI has completed well over five million square feet of Storage while maintaining its experience in Office Buildings, Retail, Concrete Tilt and Tenant Improvements. DAI utilizes its extensive and varied experience to provide unique and comprehensive pre-construction services while ultimately delivering a quality and timely product.
