CourseArc™ is an accessibility-first course authoring and management platform that helps teams create, update, and scale engaging online learning without coding or specialized technical skills. Founded in 2015 by instructional designer Katie Egan and software engineer Bethany Meyer, CourseArc grew out of their search for a tool that combined ease of use, accessibility, collaboration, and consistent course design. They built accessibility into the authoring process from the start. The platform supports creating content that conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which includes accessibility criteria beyond the WCAG 2.1 Level AA technical standard required by the ADA Title II web accessibility rule. This helps public institutions meet their own digital accessibility obligations. Instructional designers, faculty, and subject-matter experts collaborate in one environment, with the freedom to shape their courses while maintaining shared standards. CourseArc’s Magic AI Toolset helps teams turn existing materials into structured course drafts, create assessments, and develop image descriptions. CourseArc connects with learning management systems through LTI, supports SCORM 1.2 package delivery, and integrates with Google Classroom. It serves higher education, K-12, workforce development, businesses, and nonprofits. To date, CourseArc has reached nearly 1.3 million learners, delivered more than 157,000 courses, recorded 35 million module completions, and tracked 236 million learning interactions.
