The history of Copesco & Sefrisa and our close relationship with gourmet seafood began in 1853, when the company's founder: Mr. José Daurella, became Spain's first importer of large amounts of cod from Iceland, Greenland, Norway and Faroe Islands for its selling throughout the country. Since then, we have strengthened direct links with our suppliers, which has allowed us to ensure a stable supply, the best selected quality and has helped us to adapt the raw material to the characteristics of our production process. In the 60's, our domination over the sources of supply and our strong position in the market, pushed us to diversify our product range with a new activity: Smoked products. Thanks to an exclusive Scandinavian formula applied in our elaborations, we get our brands ROYAL and SUMMUMM to be a guarantee of quality and prestige. The IFS (high level) certification and our care in the selection and production of our products have led us to be the market leader and the consumer reference in the categories of salted cod, desalted cod and smoked salmon.
