Newcastle SLSC is a family oriented club with a diverse membership base, including nippers (junior activities), patrolling members, competitive athletes, trainers and social members.

Rainbow Bay is the most southern Surf Life Saving Club in Queensland with one of the oldest clubs in Australia right next door. Established in 1962 Rainbow is a small club but with A grade Surf boat rowing team who are getting our name all around Australia. Nippers is also another large group in our club with about 200 nipper's having the best of times every Sunday morning. The club house over looks the Bay and upstairs is host to the ocean deck bar and restaurant which has just been renovated and refurbished.
