COMPRESS.dsl Information

Compress was founded in 2000 by Ross Frylinck and François van Schalkwyk. The company, based in Cape Town, provided publishing services to non-governmental research organisations. Compress differentiated itself by offering a one-stop solution, digital printing and distribution solutions. In the mid-2000s, Compress expanded its service offering to include the production of annual reports for listed companies. By 2009, the annual report business had been separated into a new company, Greymatter & Finch, and Compress became Compress.dsl (‘decorporatised self-programmable labour’). Compress.dsl continued to service its loyal client base in the non-government sector from its offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg. At the end of 2018, after 20 years, Compress.dsl closed its doors and handed its clients over to a new entity trading under the same name.
