We are more than an unforgettable night out, we also help organizations inspire better performance.
We use the methods pioneered on our world-renowned stages to create meetings + events people don’t want to miss (or leave), content that connects because it’s funny and honest, and professional development programs that get people to change—because they get people.
Through hundreds of engagements a year, we drive personal growth and organizational improvement. Interaction by interaction, we help people and companies get better at the things they do every day.
Established in 1963. Since 1963, the Improvisation Comedy Clubs have remained the premier stages for live comedy in the United States. Over the decades, the talent who have graced Improv stages represent the Who's Who in American comedy. San Jose Improv hosted its first comedy show in November 2002. Located in the heart of "Silicon Valley," the venue delivers a mix of A-list comedy, food and cocktails. The club regularly hosts top tier comedians such as Felipe Esparza, Bobby Lee and Norm Macdonald. San Jose Improv calls the historic "Jose Theatre" home. Originally constructed in 1904, the theater is a turn-of-the-century time capsule featuring a marble and gold leaf lobby, adorned with a curated collection of art telling the stories of the Improv Comedy Clubs and The Jose Theatre. Step into the showroom to find perfect relics of a bygone era-- ornamental plaster details, stamped tin ceiling tiles, and two-stories-tall red velvet curtains flanking the iconic brick wall. In the early 1900s, the theatre featured vaudeville acts and silent films with orchestral accompaniment. Some locals may recall hanging out at The Jose all afternoon, watching kung fu double feature films for under a dollar. For over one hundred years, The Jose Theatre has survived fires, earthquakes, and the sands of time. As home to the iconic Improv brand, the venue is renewed and will continue bringing best-in-class entertainment to audiences for decades to come. Along with providing some humor in your news feed. We are a longstanding Manhattan landmark. Stand Up NY opened its doors in 1986 and has kept them open ever since. Stand Up NY is the city’s premiere destination for urbanites looking to have a good laugh. Some of America’s most beloved jokers – think Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Louis CK – are regulars that have graced the stage of what New York Magazine calls the “incubator of stand-up nobility.” Tucked into a residential block of 78th Street on the Upper West Side, it is a classic reborn by renovation.
Purchased in 2008 by entrepreneurs and best-buddies Gabriel Waldman and Dani Zoldan, Stand Up NY is no longer just a dimly-lit comedy club, it's also a great event space. Boasting a sleek and modern design (the brainchild of famed nightclub impresario Steve Lewis and Marc Dizon – the guys behind Marquee, Butter and Hudson Terrace) and fired-up versions of everyone's favorite bar snacks, Stand Up NY has distinguished themselves from their competitors. With a showroom that accommodates over 125 guests, you'll have room to burst into hysterics without knocking over your neighbor's scotch.
Stand Up NY features some of the brightest young talent in the business as well as bigger names returning to the city that gave them their start.
