Codoc Information

CODOC are an award-winning documentary company dedicated to creating spaces for critical thought through media. CODOC aims to help build a culture defined by free expression, equality and creativity. Our experiences in post-conflict zones around the world helped instill a sense of responsibility to challenge current forms of documentary and journalism. Guy Gunaratne a journalist and filmmaker from London and Heidi Lindvall, a filmmaker and human rights MA from Finland founded CODOC in 2011 on principles that strive to challenge audiences and provoke discussion Guy + Heidi have since worked with organisations such as Amnesty International, TED, Warchild UK, Childvoice International, Virgin Media and International Refugee Trust and have produced two feature films: The Truth That Wasn't There (2010) - a feature documentary on the aftermath of the Sri Lankan civil war. Forgive Me Mother (2013) - a documentary focusing on formerly abducted child soldiers in Uganda The 21st century will be defined by communication, convergence and collaboration. We believe that the generation of now have greater access to information, alternative expression and opinion than has ever been the case. Harnessing the power of the internet to streamline a culture of informed opinion, we believe that it is time for a new form of participatory driven documentary to emerge that invites open discussion and seeks to engage as well as entertain.
