Clouli is the first Mapuche start-up to have been sold to a Silicon Valley based company; it was acquired by Enabledware. Upon its acquisition, Enabledware immediately established Clouli’s new management and board of directors. Through this visionary acquisition, Enabledware will scale high impact entrepreneurship through blended learning. As a springboard, the new version of Clouli will provide Basic English and basic business courses from San Jose City College and Transworld Schools to more than 5,000 Mapuche students in the region of Araucanía. In addition, a number of U.S. and Chilean universities are forming partnerships with Clouli to bring together a certificate program and post-graduate degrees that will support their schools’ marketing and recruitment and retention efforts. The vision and work that has been nurtured by both the Chilean government and U.S. private business owners, over these past 10 years, has laid the groundwork for the Chilean government to finance high impact entrepreneurship among the Mapuche people utilizing the lessons, contacts, education, and resources in Silicon Valley.
