Tierra Pacifica Charter School Information

studentsmicroscopes.jpgTierra Pacifica, was founded in 1998, is a tuition-free public school serving children from all parts of Santa Cruz County. Currently we serve 145 students in our close-knit learning community, with six classrooms of children in grades K-8. The goal of Tierra Pacífica is academic excellence achieved through a dynamic, arts enriched curriculum, which is standards based and developmentally appropriate. Children are recognized as individuals with unique learning styles. The school offers a variety of opportunities for exploring curriculum in multi-age settings with talented staff and specialists. The aim is to educate the whole child, with emphasis on diversity awareness, conflict resolution, and social and emotional development. Tierra Pacifica is designed for families who want to take an active role in the education of their children. Parents participate in the classroom and in many other capacities, including governing the school. The result is a strong feeling of community among children, parents, teachers and staff. Our Vision: We are a vibrant collaboration between families and educators to create a heartfelt K-8 school and multigenerational community. Our Mission: We stimulate a love of learning by integrating academic instruction with the arts and fostering environmental stewardship, emotional intelligence and physical health.
