The Circability Trust was formed in July 2012 as a Charitable Trust by Directors Frances Kelliher and Thomas Hinz. Frances and Thomas founded the award winning Circus Kumarani in Northland in 2003. They were project partners in the research ‘Developing Community Circus in Aotearoa New Zealand’, which led to the development of the Aotearoa New Zealand Circus Association (ANZCA), chaired by Frances until June 2017. Thomas studied Rehabilitative Pedagogy in Berlin in the late 80‘s and set up 'Circus Fantasia’, with its circus tent in the city of Rostock in 1995. It stages shows, hosts festivals and workshops with local, national and international groups. It runs professional development and team building events.
