For over 22 years, Tabby’s Place has been a world class, cage-free sanctuary saving cats from hopeless situations.
Tabby’s Place embraces the neediest cats regardless of age, medical issues, or temperament, making it a harbor of hope for the most desperate, with a particular focus on cats with advanced needs.
At any given time, 30-40% of Tabby’s Place’s residents have chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and paraplegia. Most of the sanctuary’s cats are simply “normal,” healthy cats who ran out of time in desperate circumstances, and nearly all 100+ residents are available for adoption.
The sanctuary is a uniquely nurturing environment, providing the tenderness, patience and personalized care cats need to trust people, whatever their past. The physical facility supports this level of care, having been designed from the ground up to meet cats’ needs and delight their senses with bright, open suites; continuous fresh air; and safe access to outdoor solaria.
Love and grace characterize Tabby’s Place’s interactions with everyone it encounters, feline or otherwise. The Tabby’s Place team strives to treat each person and cat with respect, compassion, and generosity of spirit.

Featuring award winning locally roasted coffees and the ability to interact with adoptable cats, The Cat Cafe provides customers with an alternative to large chains. Whether you're a resident, tourist, or in San Diego for business, we invite you to visit!
We are NEKO: A Cat Cafe. Our mission is to put a smile on your face and a cat on your lap all while helping out cats that need us most.
Inspired by the cat cafe culture of Japan, NEKO is a fun and unique space that brings humans and cats together.
We partner with shelters across the country to help cats who are Feline Leukemia positive and find them FURever homes. NEKO was founded by Caitlin Unsell and Cory James who after spending 2 years living in Sapporo, Japan came back to Seattle, WA with a dream of opening their own cat cafe.
We are always looking to broaden our NEKO pride.
