The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s preeminent orchestra, dedicated to creating meaningful experiences that transcend borders and connect communities. Through the shared language of music, the MSO delivers performances of the highest standard, enriching lives and inspiring audiences across the globe. Woven into the cultural fabric of Victoria and with a history spanning more than a century, the MSO reaches five million people annually through performances, TV, radio, and online broadcasts, as well as critically acclaimed recordings from its newly established recording label. In 2025, Jaime Martín continues to lead the Orchestra as Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor. Sydney Philharmonia exists to celebrate and share the joy of singing. We do this by presenting the 500-year-old art form of choral music for audiences at the highest standards of artistic excellence, both with key artistic partners and through our own programs. We also ensure the future of choral music through training and educating singers, musicians and conductors, by commissioning new works and devising innovative ways of presenting our repertoire. Perhaps most importantly, we create opportunities for anyone with an interest to participate in choral singing. Our performances with the Sydney Symphony and the Sydney Festival have brought us high acclaim, including a Helpmann Award. Our 10th anniversary ChorusOz performance in 2015 attracted over 900 choristers, playing to a capacity audience at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. Having started life as the Hurlstone Park Choral Society in 1920. We’re looking forward to our Centenary in 2020, under Music Director Brett Weymark, with a new outlook on what the choral tradition means in 21st-century Australia.

The Australian Girls Choir was established by Judith Curphey in 1984. Her goal was to create a choir with a uniquely Australian sound, high artistic standards; a choir which could dance as well as sing, and was renowned for its quality of presentation. The choir began with four junior groups rehearsing in the Melbourne suburb of Burwood. It was not long before chapters of the Australian Girls Choir were opened interstate with classes commencing in South Australia in 1984, in New South Wales in 1986 and in Queensland in 2000. There are over 3,500 choristers in four states across 17 rehearsal venues. Best recognised for its involvement in the Qantas 'I Still Call Australia Home' advertising campaign, the choir has sung at almost every major concert venue in the country. The girls have performed with a long list of outstanding artists and personalities from the entertainment world, and have been acclaimed in some hundreds of performances undertaken in numerous international and national tours. Our choristers have been applauded by audiences and events organisers alike for their energetic and vibrant performances. The choir is renowned for the standard achieved in dance items as a result of the girls' work with professional choreographers. In this, the choir is unique in Australia.
